26th Feb 07 - 2nd Mar 07
Leaving on 26th Feb to KK for the very 1st time. Going to spend 5 days out of my 4-week holidays in Sabah, that wasn’t too bad, haha fully utilise my holidays back in M’sia.
Arrive @ KK around 9:00am, suppose to head-up to Kudat in afternoon, but end up staying one day in KK. It’s such a beautiful place, loving it!
On 27th Feb, we headed-up to Kudat early in the morning. It takes 3-hrs drive to arrive. The journey is pretty tiring. We got some seafood on our way back to Kudat for dinner. The seafood is seriously cheap in Sabah compared to Sarawak. Man, I love seafood very much! We got 3 big bags of seafood: ham, luo luo etc, and it’s only RM5. We got another 2kg of crab, and that’s RM7/kg. Yummo…
We did some swimming @ aunt’s rocky swimming pool… the pool is really beautiful, love it very much! I remember the last time i swam was in Hobart Aquatic Centre, it was a big heart-attack! Almost drown, coz been too playful - I was on the slide, & I slided into the mid-swimming pool, and I couldn’t reach the ground. Very panic & not much breath for myself to swim. I ended-up been grabbed by friend. Haha, v embarrasing, anyway… So, this is the very 1st time swimming after such incident. Learn snorkeling too in the pool, such tat I’m ready to snorkel in the sea
On 28th Feb, we thought of snorkeling @ the beach nearby aunt’s house - Bak Bak Beach, but there’s too much white horses… sea was too rough to snorkel. Hence, we drived to The Tip of Borneo. The sea was really calm, great to do the snorkeling. As it is the very 1st time in my life to snorkel in the sea, i’m really excited abt it, also very nervous. Uncle Ray been showing me around, aunt went swimming around the sea. Haha… i’m too slow, hence Uncle Ray the rite person to bring me around, he’s patient enuf to bring me around.
It was really interesting down in the sea, there’s a lot of seaweeds. But i did see some interesting & beautiful fishes. I found pipe fish, its body juz like a pipe. Also, I saw jelly fish, ooo tat’s scaring. There’s 2 kind of jelly fishes, according to Uncle Ray: one with tenticles & the other one not. Those with tenticles are mostly dangerous. When those tenticles swiped-by human’s face, u got burnt. However, not too sure with this kind tat we met. We also saw the other kind of jelly fish without tenticles, which is harmless. I touched it, nth happen haha…
Oh yes, I saw a swarm of mullet fish! Very interesting… huge swarm of fishes swimming by
Saw the cleaning fish as well… they got a blue colour body with black & white stripes. If u stopped-by long enuf, they may come up to u & clean yr mask, hence the name of "cleaning fish", interesting! Saw one of them cleaning up the mullet fish, haha…
& yup, I did see the choral! Very nice…
Really really enjoy my 1st snorkeling! It was fun… I din even realise i snorkel till quite far from the beachside. But I have a very good couch wif me - Uncle Ray, won’t be tat bad. An unforgettable & enjoyable snorkeling that I would nvr have time to do during my candidature… hahaha…
Aunt brought me tat nite to have seafood again! It’s @ … hmmm… no idea wif the place… but very good place…
On 1st Mar, I’m practising diving @ aunt’s swimming pool… haha… that’s a bit of shame as I haven’t got time to dive in the sea. I reckon that would be much more interesting! Too bad, too short my holiday! Anyway, diving learning is great! I learned to clear the water in the mask, n others. I reckon I’m ready to dive next time, yeah!
That nite, we went out for dinner. We had steamboat @ Crown Cafe in Kudat wif two different soups: tom yum & chicken broth. We had the dinner wif few of the other teenagers, I think they are all from Turtle Sanctuary, they are there to protect the turtle & earth. Very impressive, @ that age to protect earth!
I’m back to Miri on 2nd Mar afternoon.
There’s another week to spend in Miri b4 I go back to Australia, back to my study…
very excited and very relaxing… after the 2 weeks of esaa summer school… getting up early at 8am and finishing off the day around 5-6pm, pretty tiring. Listening to presentations from professionals and industrial ppl, great times but yes, VERY tiring. There’s great time too - Tasmanian cheese and wine evening, and a dinner at Peppermint Bay… oh yup, u got it rite, v cruised to Peppermint Bay, took us 45min to arrive.
Tasmanian Wine & Cheese Event
We took the cruise at 6:30pm and arriving peppermint bay at 7 something. Finishing our dinner around 10:30 - 11pm and off we cruised back to Hobart. Pretty exciting experience
Peppermint Bay Cruise
No studies for 2 weeks but attending the esaa summer school, pretty useful & compact, but not sure how much hv I absorbed… haha J
Well, end of summer school… another week to go & I’ll be off to M’sia 1st time in 5 years. Pretty exciting… 4 weeks holiday, 5 days to be spent in Kudat, Sabah. It’s a long holiday for myself after long-hrs working/study life :p
This has been a while… but thomas has planted a second tomato plant last year after the death of the 1st tomato plant has been confirmed -_-|||
Oh well, the 2nd tomato plant has grown surprising healthy, few photos shown here:
Can u see the two tomatoes growing up? This is really excited
oh well, we should see how it goes…
Few days ago, the tomato plant almost die as thomas has forgotten to do the watering for a while, luckily he still be able to save the little tomato plant, ooopsss… perhaps it’s no longer "little" tomato plant
well, congrats!
Okie dokie, we should see how the tomato plant grows… more follow-up coming…
It is so exciting, it’s new year 2007! Very excited as I love to watch the fire crackers @ the waterfront in Hobart. Most probably because it is crowded, and I love to see such many people
Taken few photos and video… the fire crackers are very beautiful, very impressive.
New year new wishes… I wish happiness always
and much much more hehehe…
Wish everybody have a great year ahead…
Happy New Year 2007

I was exhausted and sick after Australasian Universities Power Engineering Conference (AUPEC) in Melbourne. Anyway, the trip to Melbourne was FUN
9th Dec 06
Conference would not start until tomorrow, so today would be my RELAXING day. Told my cousin since early that he would most prob end up being my tour-guide for the rest of the day, haha. Listed a full list of places that I love to visit… & took more photos :p Oh can’t deny that he really did a great job!
Been to Victoria Market, Melbourne Central, Federal Square, Flinder St Station, China town, outlet factories, CROWN casino and etc. Started the ‘muck-around’ since early 8:30am, and only get back home @ 12am after the X’mas show in Crown casino. Pretty exhausted but enjoyable! I was almost collapse, haha… was too happy to have 5 days off (well, it meant to be conference…)! & yes, have had some food that couldn’t even found in Tassie & that I’ve been longed for! It was 42 degrees, so hot that I couldn’t stand, have taken 4 times shower in a day! but that did not help, very lucky to have air-conditioner, 1st time turning on air-conditioner in Australia… probably would nvr ever hv chance to do it in Tassie… sigh -_-|||
10th Dec 06
I was still very tired after the very intensive touring yesterday! Anyway, it’s 1st day of the conference. Took the tram on our own, manage to get to Rydges Hotel with the map. Well done!
Ha… the tutorial sections were found to be cancelled. No one even notify us, and everyone else. Apparently, only 2 ppl registered for the tutorial, so they thought not many ppl gonna turn up for that, hence cancellation of the tutorial. Well, it’s good in the sense that I have to prepare for my presentations (2 papers) on Monday, and yet, I haven’t done any preparations nor practices. very brave!
This ang mo (very bossy one), suggested that we should go to Museum to kill time. Well, that’s a good idea, not feeling practising the presentations in the early morning. So off we went to Museum, oh ya we WALKED to museum from Rydges Hotel. I almost gone crazy, coz I wasn’t recovered from yesterday yet, and I asked "why don’t we take a tram?" And know wat, this ang mo said "It’s walking distance, we should take a bit of walking…" anyway…
Went to Museum, and left @ noon. Heading back to my hotel coz wanted to get started with presentation practising (though i still feel like going around). Anyway, i was too tired and too hot to even bother mucking around. Better idea to stay in my hotel with air-conditioner on.
Couldn’t concentrate much, but did a fair bit of practising. Grab my cousins out @4:30pm b4 I went for the conference registration @ 5:30pm. Met some new friends over there… from different universities…
Took a train to South Yarra after that, heading to the place that my cousins stay. Did a little bit of editing on my presentations slides. Only went out for dinner @ 风味小馆 after my other cousin came back fm his football kicking or watsoever, that’s around 9pm -_-|||
Anyway, we had BALACAN KANGKUNG!!! Man i miss this food so much! 奶油炒虾, and tofu. I enjoyed the dinner very much, but in the mean time, quite nervous with the presentations next day.
My cousins drive me home, and off i went wif last bit of practising.
11th Dec 06
Ohhooo… I done my presentations! It went so good that I was very happy. One new friend fm Monash U even ask me if i ever feel nervous, as he told me i spoke confidently. Tat’s a compliment to me. I’m quite surprise that none of my friends could actually tell tat I’m nervous, well that’s good sign. The chair even came up to me and congrats me wif good presentations. Was SOOOoooo Happy~
After all, I went sick! After the thrown-out of my voice etc… i got sore throat, once i had it, I got everything - fever, flu etc… bad luck. Even until today, i still coughing -_-||| hate it!
12th Dec 06
Conference kept on going, with other presentations running in parallel. But i was free~ conference dinner on tonite, seem like we going to have Indian food, with Indian dance too… lucky i hid up myself, if not, would hv been grabbed by those new naughty friends for some Indian dance haha… (they got me the next day and blaiming that i din come along for the dance, well lucky me!) shake-yr-bum-bum
13th Dec 06
Last day of conference… we took late flight flying back to Hobart… I was very looking fwd as i miss Hobart heaps! Arrived Hobart @ 9pm
14th Dec 06
Well… AUPEC 2006 officially ended. It was FUN and i enjoyed it! & I’m very looking fwd as my dear dear coming back today! Hurray~ He came back from his 2-week holidays back in M’sia & Singapore. That’s a very short holiday, but can’t help missing him heaps! Was very excited and of course happy, brought me a lot of presents back! And of course, happy that he is BACK!
= THE END =
Well, I’m not going to have plenty of red wine tomato to eat as I thought… coz it has confirmed to be death. Told thomas to have changed the soil, but he nvr listen, else it could have save the little tomato plant?
We came back late last nite, and I was hmmm… kind of expected, but still quite surprise to find that tomato plant is death. Thomas was even funny, he told me that he left the plant outside, such that it could have plenty of sunshine, but when he came back in the afternoon, he was so shocked that the tomato plant was drooping and quickly grabbed it back into the room. Haih… v funny to see him growing little plant. He told me that he had grown a pretty flower once, and had to leave to a friend to take care of it, as he went back to M’sia. Yes, I saw his plant wif tat friend, it was growing v beautifully. But by the time he came back, tat friend had left the plant wif another friend. When Thomas be able to contact that other friend, his plant was found to be death. Hahahaha… I can’t help laughing at him :p
well well, we have some funny experience in growing that little plant, and also some arguments. & I’m pretty sure I’m right. Anyway, that’s another long story~
perhaps we shall go and buy another tomato plant later :p
Thomas juz bought a tomato plant, he doesn’t like tomato but I do. Initially I thought he planted it for me, but hmmm… nope, i was wrong. Most probably he likes plantations, gardening, stuff like tat, and hence the tomato plant.
one day, i saw our red wine @ home, suddenly have a thought, & suggested to Thomas that he could water the tomate plant with the red wine :p hehe & he did. I was so regret to tell him so. Anyway…
U nvr know how careful he could to look after the little tomato plant. Oh well, I shall see how long would his passion last :p
After the day of red wine watering, i could see the tomato plant shrinking instead of growing up. I blame Thomas for his stupidity, but he still couldn’t understand why was that, as he still believes red wine is good for plantation. & he did everything to try to save the little tomato plant, he keeps on watering the tomato plant, to flow away the red wine in the clay. Haha, he is more anxious abt his little plant instead of me :p he said the little tomato plant is his "baby" hahaha.
Okok… v shall see how the plant grows in a later time. This is so exciting coz I would have plenty of tomato to eat :p
