Holidays in KK + Kudat, SABAH
Tuesday, March 6th, 200726th Feb 07 - 2nd Mar 07
Leaving on 26th Feb to KK for the very 1st time. Going to spend 5 days out of my 4-week holidays in Sabah, that wasn’t too bad, haha fully utilise my holidays back in M’sia.
Arrive @ KK around 9:00am, suppose to head-up to Kudat in afternoon, but end up staying one day in KK. It’s such a beautiful place, loving it!
On 27th Feb, we headed-up to Kudat early in the morning. It takes 3-hrs drive to arrive. The journey is pretty tiring. We got some seafood on our way back to Kudat for dinner. The seafood is seriously cheap in Sabah compared to Sarawak. Man, I love seafood very much! We got 3 big bags of seafood: ham, luo luo etc, and it’s only RM5. We got another 2kg of crab, and that’s RM7/kg. Yummo…
We did some swimming @ aunt’s rocky swimming pool… the pool is really beautiful, love it very much! I remember the last time i swam was in Hobart Aquatic Centre, it was a big heart-attack! Almost drown, coz been too playful - I was on the slide, & I slided into the mid-swimming pool, and I couldn’t reach the ground. Very panic & not much breath for myself to swim. I ended-up been grabbed by friend. Haha, v embarrasing, anyway… So, this is the very 1st time swimming after such incident. Learn snorkeling too in the pool, such tat I’m ready to snorkel in the sea
On 28th Feb, we thought of snorkeling @ the beach nearby aunt’s house - Bak Bak Beach, but there’s too much white horses… sea was too rough to snorkel. Hence, we drived to The Tip of Borneo. The sea was really calm, great to do the snorkeling. As it is the very 1st time in my life to snorkel in the sea, i’m really excited abt it, also very nervous. Uncle Ray been showing me around, aunt went swimming around the sea. Haha… i’m too slow, hence Uncle Ray the rite person to bring me around, he’s patient enuf to bring me around.
It was really interesting down in the sea, there’s a lot of seaweeds. But i did see some interesting & beautiful fishes. I found pipe fish, its body juz like a pipe. Also, I saw jelly fish, ooo tat’s scaring. There’s 2 kind of jelly fishes, according to Uncle Ray: one with tenticles & the other one not. Those with tenticles are mostly dangerous. When those tenticles swiped-by human’s face, u got burnt. However, not too sure with this kind tat we met. We also saw the other kind of jelly fish without tenticles, which is harmless. I touched it, nth happen haha…
Oh yes, I saw a swarm of mullet fish! Very interesting… huge swarm of fishes swimming by
Saw the cleaning fish as well… they got a blue colour body with black & white stripes. If u stopped-by long enuf, they may come up to u & clean yr mask, hence the name of "cleaning fish", interesting! Saw one of them cleaning up the mullet fish, haha…
& yup, I did see the choral! Very nice…
Really really enjoy my 1st snorkeling! It was fun… I din even realise i snorkel till quite far from the beachside. But I have a very good couch wif me - Uncle Ray, won’t be tat bad. An unforgettable & enjoyable snorkeling that I would nvr have time to do during my candidature… hahaha…
Aunt brought me tat nite to have seafood again! It’s @ … hmmm… no idea wif the place… but very good place…
On 1st Mar, I’m practising diving @ aunt’s swimming pool… haha… that’s a bit of shame as I haven’t got time to dive in the sea. I reckon that would be much more interesting! Too bad, too short my holiday! Anyway, diving learning is great! I learned to clear the water in the mask, n others. I reckon I’m ready to dive next time, yeah!
That nite, we went out for dinner. We had steamboat @ Crown Cafe in Kudat wif two different soups: tom yum & chicken broth. We had the dinner wif few of the other teenagers, I think they are all from Turtle Sanctuary, they are there to protect the turtle & earth. Very impressive, @ that age to protect earth!
I’m back to Miri on 2nd Mar afternoon.
There’s another week to spend in Miri b4 I go back to Australia, back to my study…
